I went to the Norfolk vs Louisville game last night

    My entirely unprofessional scouting report...

(I was sitting 3rd baseline between home and 3rd 4 rows up and I missed the 1st inning because of traffic...)

Tom Shearn got a lot of hitters out without throwing hardly any breaking pitches but he seemed arroyo esque by throwing the fastball (instead of curveball) from different arm slots and at different speeds. Only touched 89 a couple of times. Throws a ridiculously hanging breaking pitch that is pretty much worthless. I don't know what all he throws but this is just from what I saw.

Anderson Machado has quick hands when turning the double play and solid footwork. Still looks clueless at the plate.

Joey Votto looked shellshocked out there. I'm not sure if it was scored an error or just some sort of fielder's choice because you can not assume the double play but, he just dropped the ball. His only at bat that I saw that he looked good was when he was hit by the pitch. A couple of bad at bats but he remained patient at the plate somewhat and tried to see as many pitches as possible.

I'm going to be at the game tonight to watch Homer Bailey on the mound and see if Votto can get it going
