Neither one is playing great so I'm all for going with the lefthander.

Then cue the Encarnacion and Machado for Brad Gulden and Duane Walker chatter.......then cue the Alex Trevino defensive liability schtick with a circle change pitching coach....We need Soto back to help start as many fights as possible.

Why do you bench Edwin after he gets a hit?

Pretty good numbers against Bush for BP and Hat.

Good to see all the game thread angst has turned this place around

I'm glad Brew Crew have only Shouse as a lefty to go to.....although he has the Reds. Hatte, Griff, Dunn a combined 3-43.

Hamilton, Dunn, and Griffey batting together in the lineup has to be pretty scary for Bush.

I really hope Freel has a good game tonight, really. However, I have watched every game this year with the exception of two (Tivo ROCKS!) and he is the guy who is driving me absolutely nuts. He seems lost at the plate -- swinging away 2-0 when the pitcher can't find the plate and we need a baserunner -- and in the field, if I have to watch him make one more routine play into a sliding, "I want to get a Webgem" circus act, I may just lose it. Add in a few baserunning blunders and you have a guy, billed as the "play the game the right way guy" who is playing with his head up his hindquarters. Granted, Edwin's bat has looked slow at times and other guys have looked lost (Ross for example), but Freel is just driving me to drink. Plus, how do you sit Edwin after he FINALLY seemed to be coming out of his funk last night. Just seems odd to sit him tonight when he finally seems to be getting back on track.

Then again, it is just one game...maybe I just need to chill.

According to Trent's blog, Josh Hamilton hit a ball over the right field stands in batting practice this afternoon.

    That's unreal.

The announcers were saying last night that once Josh stops treating every at-bat like he has an 0-2 count and really starts looking for his pitch, we could really start seeing the power. They cited his batting practice performance. I guess 3 HR's in 18 ABs (if memory serves) isn't enough.

How many walks does he need to have... Hamilton has been pretty selective so far.
