Valaika singles again, now 2-for-3 tonight with 2 singles, 2 RBI, and a walk.

3-0 Dayton in the 9th. They are three outs away from a 8-0 start.

    Medlock 2.1 IP, 1 H, 1 BB, 4 K

    season line: 8.2 IP, 7 H, 1 BB, 14 K

If he was left in AA for any reason other than because they're keeping a spot in AAA for rehabbers Majewski, Burton, and maybe Bray, it was because he needed better control. So far, he's had it and has seen excellent results. I hope he is promoted soon.

I feel a Votto tear coming on by May 10th

Medlock had a 10.1/per9 krate in AA last year, what was Coffey's in 2004?

I believe Doug said he throws a curveball, change, and fastball, though that's all I've heard.

Which is interesting because Coffey hasn't posted a 9.00/per9 krate before or since. Career year?

Medlock put up huge k/9 in Dayton and once moved up to the pen, has gone back to the big k/9. Medlock's potential has always been interesting. Maybe a step ahead of Coffey's?

    In 2001 he had a 10.66 K/9, (rookie ball)

His career K/9 in the minors is 8.22
So far his career K/9 in the majors is 5.69, he improved is K/9 from 4.03 (2005) to 6.92 (2006).

Roenicke is sick. He threw one bad game, in which he had 4 walks. Besides that, he's given up 1 hit and 1 walk in 5.2 innings, whiling striking out 11! Every time I see him in a box score he's pitched an inning with 2 Ks.
