Jay Bruce is on fire. That's now seven XBH in 56 atbats - the Tigers and DBacks can have Maybin and Upton, I'll take Jay Bruce.

Bring him up. Hamilton's proving that AA and AAA are overrated.

Love seeing Richie Gardner getting back into the grove. Assuming his velocity has/will return to where it was pre-surgery, he will be very interesting to watch over the course of this year.

I would take Maybin anyday over Bruce:
    1.Better plate discipline
    2.Better defense
    3.Just as much power

Maybin may be the best OF prospect in years, if not decades. Bruce is a more powerfull version of Jeff Franoceur.

Well looks like Dayton is on its way to its first loss. They trail 8-3 in the 5th inning.

Maybin doesnt have near the same type of power as Bruce. I also contend Jay has much better discipline than Francouer.

Hitters learn plate discipline as they mature. You have already determined that Jay Bruce won't develop any sort of plate discipline. Do you ever have anything good to say about Reds prospects?

It isn't I think Bruce isn't a good prospect, but he isn't the "super" "franchise" prospect that Maybin is. Hitters don't "learn" discipline either, they either have it nor not. Think Juan F in Dayton will "learn" plate discipline.

FWIW, Maybin with 2 more walks tonight, 13 vs. 4 for Bruce.

I think we already had this debate last year by a couple of posters. They are looking right.

I do think Jaun will learn some discipline. I doubt its ever great, but I bet its better than it has been. I mean its great that Maybin has a good eye and all, but Jay Bruce is far and away a better hitter than Maybin is. I will also argue that Bruce isnt a super or franchise prospect. Hitters like him dont come around very often to many franchises. The guy is hitting the ball all over the place this year, to all fields.

Jason Louwsma now pitching for the Dragons. Yes, the infielder.
