    For you Cincinnati Beer Lovers

Got this in my email, for those of you who might be interested.

MOERLEIN OTR ALE HAUS at Findlay Market
    APRIL 25-29TH.

On April 25, 2007, at 3 p.m., at 128 W. Elder St. in the Findlay Market Square, the Brewery District Community Urban Redevelopment Corporation will open the door to the "Moerlein OTR Ale Haus." The Ale Haus will be open for five days and selling beer on a temporary permit. Each day will feature a different Findlay Market vendor. All proceeds will go toward sub-naming McMicken Ave. "Brewer's Boulevard."
From 3 PM to 4 PM, the Brewery District will host a private press party. At 4 PM Vice-Mayor Jim Tarbell will tap the first keg of Moerlein OTR Ale.
For the past two years, the Christian Moerlein Brewing Company has been hand-crafting Moerlein Over-the-Rhine Ale to replicate beers brewed in OTR's Brewery District during the mid-1800's. The beer has been named to honor both the history of Over-the-Rhine's brewing heritage as well as the efforts of the people working toward the neighborhood's rebirth. Moerlein OTR Ale will be a permanent member of the Moerlein family of beers. For the first five days of the beer's existence, the only place to purchase Moerlein OTR Ale draft beer will be at the Moerlein OTR Ale Haus at Findlay Market.
The Moerlein OTR Ale Haus will have the following hours of operation and schedule of events:

    Wednesday, April 25th:
    3-4 PM, private press party
4 PM Ceremonial tapping of the first keg of OTR Ale.
4-8 PM, open to the public

    Thursday, April 26th:
2-8 PM. Brewery District and Friends Happy Hour. This
traditional OTR dinner will feature bratwurst from Findlay
Market's best sausage makers and cold Moerlein OTR beer.

Friday, April 27th: 2-8 PM. Friday Fish Fry catered by the famous Aunt Flora.

Saturday, April 28th: 11 AM - 8 PM. Brews, Blues and BBQ by Mr. Pig.

    Sunday, April 29th: 12PM - 4PM. Cajun Sunday Seafood Sampler by Luken's

All proceeds of beer sales will go toward the Brewery District's plan to sub-name McMicken Ave. "Brewer's Boulevard." Specifically, the money will be used for street signs and an Ohio Historic plaque honoring Over-the-Rhine's brewing heritage. Many of the remaining Nineteenth Century brewery buildings are located on or near McMicken. Information regarding the location of the remaining brewery buildings, Cincinnati's beer heritage, and the plans for "Brewer's Boulevard" will be available throughout the event. For patrons wishing to aid the effort with more than the purchase of beer, a $25 donation will buy an annual membership in the Brewery District Community Urban Redevelopment Corporation.
Commemorative Moerlein OTR Ale memorabilia highlighting the importance of the event will be available. This includes a limited number of commemorative pint glasses celebrating the beer's launch date and location.
The Brewery District Community Urban Redevelopment Corporation is a non-profit dedicated to the rebirth of Over-the-Rhine's Brewery District and honoring Cincinnati's proud brewing heritage. More information about the Brewery District and this event can be found at www.otrbrewerydistrict.org, by e-mailing otrbrewerydistrict@yahoo.com.
    Sounds pretty cool.

I firmly believe in supporting all beer charities. I'll have to check it out when I come down to Cincy.
