Look How Aurilia is Doing, infield defense

It doesn;t matter because the Reds have great infield defense, they are near the top of the league in a category healined E, is that for excellence?

Hey! I was a Aurilia supporter. The guy has been on fire for SF since the season began, and has singlehandedly been instrumental in their last few wins with game winning hits. But people didn't want to pay him 4 Mil/yr because he was old and would hold EE back.

In this market, and day and age, 4 Mil/yr is a drop in the bucket anymore. But I will say that we really didn't have a place to play him on a regular basis, which is what he wanted. And 4 Mil is alot to pay a platoon player.

By the end of the year you will see equal to superior production from EE at a fraction of the price, with better range at 3B from a much younger player who we will control for the next several years.

Not a knock on RA but letting him go was the right thing to do.

Rich turned the Reds down, not the other way.

Are you suggesting that some players might want to play other places than Cincinnati?

    Outrageous assertion!

Have they not heard about Opening Day?

Championships for MY teams in my lifetime:
    Cincinnati Reds - 75, 76, 90
    Chicago Blackhawks - 10, 13
    University of Kentucky - 78, 96, 98, 12
    Cincinnati Bengals - None
    Chicago Bulls - 91, 92, 93, 96, 97, 98

I loved Rich while he was here, but I don't think it would have been wise to give him the contract that he wanted. I agree 4 mil is a lot to pay a platoon player. And as bad as EE is doing right now I wouldn't want to see Rich starting over him, I say with EE it's sink or swim time just keep putting him out there. Honestly I think EE is going to be fine, or maybe I hope.

I cheer for Aurilia at Giants games. (Though I boo Omar Vizquel. They don't like that here.)

They offered him Arb, but he inked with the Giants prior to any chance for a hearing or him accepting the Reds offer. Which I don't think was as many years as the Giants.

I'm not up on the FA rules but I thought thats just what you did to get the comp pick for a guy you were not really planning on resigning? I'm assuming if they really wanted to they had the right to make him a true FA offer before anyone else and avoid arb?

OPS'd .861, had 50 XBH -- yeah, I in no way miss that kind of offensive production from the right-side of the plate on this ballclub.

This team has tossed away right handed bats like polyester suits in the past year or so and made no effort to replace them. Then everyone stands around and scratches their heads wondering why the team gets dominated by anyone left-handed with a pulse.
