If there were still a reserve clause, Bruce would be on the team already.

I was hoping they could bring him up to add another lefty to the lineup.

I know people will jump on me for this and I know you're joking with the title of this thread... but I'd almost like to see Wayne blow this team up.

Here's the plan he could follow:

Trade Griffey, Dunn, Gonzalez and Hatte to the highest bidder and then eat Milton's contract.

Call up Bruce, Votto, Janish, and Bailey. Let them learn and grow together at the ML level as a peer group.

Here's what our team would be:

    Freel CF
    Phillips 2B
    Hamilton RF
    Encarnacion 3B
    Votto 1B
    Bruce LF
    Janish SS
    Valentin/Ross C

    Harang SP
    Arroyo SP
    Lohse SP
    Belisle SP
    Bailey SP

Hopefully we could fill in some of the missing pieces with the trade returns, and we'd then be well-positioned financially to sign the young players that pan out the best.

It's a stretch for Bruce, but word has it that Bailey, Votto and Janish are already ML ready in many ways. I think this team, with youthful exhuberance and upside, might even be better than what we have right now -- and certainly more exciting. Think the Florida Marlins or the Tampa Bay Devil Rays...

Start arbitration clocks for players who are playing on a horrible team?

Darnit! I knew my plan wasn't perfect. But it seems to work okay for those Florida teams, right?

I know, I know... my plan isn't really plausible. It sure would add some excitement to Reds baseball though.

I'm thinking about it...I'm still not sure how I feel about it though.
My dad got to enjoy 3 Reds World Championships by the time he was my age. So far, I've only gotten to enjoy one. Step it up Redlegs!

nothing about trading Adam Dunn sounds like a good idea to me.

But nothing about watching him strike out 200 or more times this year sounds good to me.
