    Slow Starts Around the Majors

I know we're all belaboring the slow starts of EE, JR, Ross, et al. Just a quick post to demonstrate that they're hardly the only ones. Some proven MLB stars are off to some slow starts as well. It's very early. See:

    Lance Berkman, .207, 1 hr

Mark Teixeira, .222, no HR, 3 RBI

Ryan Zimmerman, .241, 1 hr (HR hit yesterday)

David Wright, .273, no HR (may not qualify as "cold" but, the lack of power is noteworthy)

    Ryan Howard, .220, 2 HR

    Gary Sheffield, .119, 1 HR

Alfonso Soriano, .260, no HR (he has missed about a week due to injury, to be fair)

    Michael Young, .162, 2 HR

    Frank Thomas, .225, 2 HR

    Manny Ramirez, .226, 2 HR

    Carlos Delgado, .211, no HR

    Paul Konerko, .175, 1 HR

    Richie Sexson, .170, 3 HR

I'm sure there are others I'm overlooking.

We know most, if not all, of these guys will recover from this to have very productive seasons. So too, I believe, will our guys.

Nice perspective - it's a long season. There are rises and there are fallings. And it's horrific when it spreads across a roster. We'll see - that's my mantra this season!

The guys you name have long and illustrious track records. EdE does not and Jr had a not so good year last season, where it looked like age and injuries have officially caught up to him.

There is a much better chance of Berkman and Manny bouncing back than EdE and Jr.

I blame unseasonably cold weather. Albert Pujols would have been on the cold start list until the past week. Manny looks to have found his groove and the numbers should follow shortly. Ryan Howard showed signs of life against the Reds.

Wait a months and I'll guess that most everybody on that list has got their bats working.

Heh. Honestly, the genesis of this post was me examining my fantasy baseball lineup and trying to conjure up some hope.

Not that dissimilar to my feelings about the Redlegs.

I had five pitchers on the DL until I tossed two overboard!
