    Pujols redefining the walk

Pujols will go down as one of the greatest players ever. Since the walk (and on base percentage) is so idolized these days, he invented possibly the greatest idea ever....

Get a base on balls with only 3 balls.

lol Just saw on ESPN he walked to first after his 3rd ball, and no one challenged it.

    Crazy...

Dunn did that a while ago IIRC.

Confucius say, man with four balls no can walk.
What if this wasn't a rhetorical question?

All models are wrong. Some of them are useful.

Shoot, if that happened against the Reds I'd let him go to first. A walk is better than a double or homer.

It was even funnier because the next guy up GIDP. If he had hit a double or whatnot, who knows how the inning turns out?

    Re: Pujols redefining the walk

If its already an unintentional/intentional walk why not let them have the walk on 3 pitches. Heck 2 for that matter.
I'm East of you. Be very very worried. Not quite OBX. But, be worried.

    Re: Pujols redefining the walk

He walked on a 2-2 count. It was about 8 pitches long. Estrada noticed I think bc he looked into the dugout like: "what?" But bc it was a long AB, I think everyone lost track.

More proof that Pujols has pictures of Bud Selig in compromising positions.

My understanding is that the umpire directed him to first. it wasn't Pujols who made the first move.
