Sarasota is playing a game for school kids this morning.
Jay Bruce doubled in the first and drove in a run.
Adam Rosales drove him in with a single.
Carlos Fisher has pitched 1 inning and gave up a run.

So, Jay Bruce is pretty good, huh?'
Gracious.
goodness gracious.
Jay Bruce seriously is the second best hitter in the minor leagues only behind Billy Butler. Of course Billy Butler cant play defense better than David Ortiz....
Daniel Dorn hit a 3-run homer in the 4th, his second in two days. Sarasota leads 5-2. Carlos Fisher 4IP 1er 2r 4k's 2bb's. Bruce 1-2 2b
When does Bruce see Chattanooga? I say by the end of the month if he keeps this up.
Go BLUE!!!
Carlos Fisher 6ip, 2 ER, 4h, 2bb, 9k.
If this kid makes the show [and no reason to assume he won't] I can't wait to hear the calls of 'Bruuuuuuuuuuuuuuce' raining down as he comes to the plate.

Hugs, smiling, and interactive Twitter accounts, don't mean winning baseball. Until this community understands that we are cursed to relive the madness.
I see Rosales is quitely having a good year, but he is playing a different position, is this a permanent change for him?
Not sure if its a permanent change or not, but at the plate, he is hitting very well this year and I love that fact.
Sarasota won 5-3.
Fisher picked up his 4th win and Roenicke picked up his 9th save.
Lets not push Bruce too soon. Remember what happened when 2 guys named Dunn and Kearns were brought to the majors early. I want Bruce here when he is a fully developed hitter.
My guess, the hot, humid air in Florida keeps the ball from traveling quite as far. Think of it as the opposite of Coors Field. Also add to the fact that the pitchers get to sit in the nice cool dugout every half inning, while the hitters have to sit out in that hot humid air, probably wears them down a little quicker than your average hitter/fielder in other locals.
If Bruce keeps this up, will they really wait that long to promote him up to AA? IIRC, Bruce was aiming to make AA out of spring training. It certainly would be a nice carot/reward to offer him if he can keep it up over the next 3 weeks or so, then promote him around memorial day.
Of course the other question is, who gets bumped in AA? You're not going to promote him just to sit him, so an OF in AA would either have to move up to AAA, move to another position or the bench, get cut, or sent back to High A. They could just be waiting for an injury in AA, or for things to play themselves out a bit more so they can cut a kid in AA/AAA and open up a spot in Chatanooga for Bruce.
