The novelization of Howard the Duck was hilarious, at least to my 8th-grade tastes at the time.

And the movie did feature a rear view of lingerie-clad Lea Thompson on all fours.

I liked Eric Bana as the Hulk. Not the movie. Surprised they ditched him so quick.
I hope it's never sunny in Philly again.

Cinematic Genius, that was... Though I've not seen it since like... '87, and most everything I try and re-watch from that era is a sad, sad, disappointment... except Stand By Me... I can watch that over and over again. I swear I've seen it no less that 2500 times...

I agree. I think he's a great actor. His acting in Primal Fear was outstanding.

    I agree.

And Ang Lee's about the best director out there too, so I don't understand the hate for him.
How, then, are those people of the future—who are taking steroids every day—going to look back on baseball players who used steroids? They're going to look back on them as pioneers. They're going to look back at it and say "So what?" - Bill James, Cooperstown and the 'Roids

Adam Sandler's funniest role. And Florence Henderson's.

There was a novelization? I had no idea. I cut my literary teeth on the comic book - Pro Rata the evil accounting wizard, Quack Fu, Kong Lomerate, SOOFI, Mildred Horowitz, Dr. Bong, the All Night Party. Pure freaking genius.

I actually did a college paper on HTD as the fully actualized super hero. Most heroes get caught up in a personality split, desperately craving normalcy, only indulging their heroic alter egos when there's danger. Villains tend to be the exact opposite, indulging their powers and punishing the norms. Yet no matter how many villains HTD defeats. No matter how many times he saves the world or the universe, his persona never changes. He's always a frustrated, work-a-day, lower middle class duck who views superheroism as pure nonsense and usually suspects things would be going better if people didn't keep insisting he intervene.

Don't know if THEY ditched him as much as HE ditched them (thanks to his rising star).

In the first Hulk, I thought the computer-animated Hulk was excellent, as well as Bana and Eliot's roles. The rest, including the plot, simply stunk. A very poor effort.

The FF movie was, IMO, two stars. What they did to Dr Doom's character was blasphemy IMHO. A fellow astronaut? Give me a break. But the FF characters were very well cast IMO. Except I thought Reed was too much of an indecisive wimp.

The comic was way over my head at the time. I knew of it, but I didn't get it. I preferred Archie at that age.

The novelization had nothing to do with the comic. It was basically just like the movie, except well-written and funny.

So I guess it was really nothing like the movie.
