I never understood why they called him that anyway.
To be honest I thought about typing Gonzalez but it seemed so long, then I thought about callin him Alex, but no one does that. I should have just put Gonzo, but I was thinking about fishing earlier today.

He's probably going to be most successful sticking with the heater and slider and using the change and curve sparingly (especially the curve). As I heard Curt Schilling, who's all fastball and slider, explain once, "I've got two quality pitches so that's what I throw."

Why would you not go after him, instead you wanna face Berkman?

Because that's what Kevin Millar does and he's pithy.

Lohse walks Pence on four pitches to get to Berkman. That's probably not a very good idea Kyle.

It's a little different when you're facing Roy Oswalt rather than that kid HOU put out there last night. The Reds made him throw 50-60 pitches in 2 innings last night. You know a guy like Oswalt is going to be around the plate all night. You see a pitch you like, even if it's the forst pitch, and you go after it because you may not ever see that pitch again. Plate patience is a great thing to have. But let's not go overboard on it.

Plus the Reds' offense benefited from some crappy Houston D last night.

Lohse has struggled, that is for sure; but he has came through when he has needed to and kept us in the game. Having said that - with his pitch count over 70, he shouldn't last past the 5th, and with our BP rested.

Here's a completely unrelated bit of information: I just learned that Jason Kendall is the only catcher in MLB history to catch 140+ games eight times.

Yes, they did...Tonight they failed to take advantage of an error by Everett, which doesn't happen much.
