I know having Hatteberg lead off is unconventional but I don't have a problem with it. He's good OBP and if the pitcher is able to sacrifice ahead of him he's got a good opportunity to drive someone in. In a perfect world you'd have a high OBP guy with speed but unless Freel is starting we don't have that guy. I like this better than wasting Hamilton's power hitting after the 8 and 9 hitters.

That's good, I'd hate to consider the alternative.

This should be the lineup thread forum! It lasts about 2to3 pages and
then goes off topic with everybody talking about some game that is
    supposed to be played tonight.

Scott Hatteberg is the LH Brian Downing.

I just wish he'd pick something smart and stick with it.

Actual batting orders may be overrated, but this musical chairs bit can't be helping these guys.

So who do you bat leadoff when Freel isn't starting. There is no clear cut answer. I would rather have Hamilton's bat in the middle of the order than leading off but batting him first does give him more ABs. Hatte is about as good an option as any at leadoff.

The Rockies are a bad team, the Reds have their best three starters pitching...should be the recipe for a sweep. But it's the Reds, so who knows.

The Rockies have only hit 13 HRs this year.

That means they'll leave Cincy with 20.

I've seen worse lineups. Hatte will give great AB's and will take pitches and make the pitcher work. Not too terrible an idea, imo.

Go Reds...I sure would love a sweep here!

Get a lead early and get the game official. It looks like it will pour in an hour and a half to two hours.

I didn't even notice this with Hatteberg leading off.

    3. Junior
    4. Edwin
    5. Dunn

That's more like a middle of the order. No Conine/Seabss 3-4.
