    Reds Vs. Astros 5-8-07

    From Trent's blog:

OK, here we go, The Natural gets a day off against Houston lefty Wandy Rodriguez

    Freel cf
    Phillips 2b
    Junior rf
    Conine 1b
    Gonzales ss
    Dunn lf
    Encarnacion 3b
    Ross 2b
    Milton p

Isn't there an old saying about the definition of insanity is repeating the same actions and expecting a different outcome? I don't think I'm alone in thinking we've reached that point
    'Stros:
    Astros lineup:

    Craig Biggio 2B
    Morgan Ensberg 3B
    Lance Berkman 1B
    Carlos Lee LF
    Jason Lane RF
    Hunter Pence CF
    Adam Everett SS
    Brad Ausmus C
    Wandy Rodriguez P

Hitters who avoid outs are the funnest.

It won't matter....the bullpen will blow it anyway if Milton doesn't.

Ross at 2B is a pretty funny/scary typo.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

Well with Milton pitching the ball isn't going to get to the catcher that often anyway, so Jerry figured he'd go with 8 fielders instead. He probably would be used better standing on top of the left field wall though.

I love it when the game thread makes me chuckle after only four posts.

    Craig Biggio inspired position change.

The team leader in Outs and GIDPs is hitting second again. I can't imagine why someone would want an out machine at the top of the order but I guess Jerry has his reasons.

I can't get enough of watching him play either, but he does need SOME days off...he hasn't played probably 100 games in how long?

Yep, this is the lineup from the last time we faced Rodriguez, a 7-5 loss on May 3.

Holding steady at 24 different lineups for the year.

Marty, and for that manner, many Reds fans will blow a gasket if that happens.
