The Stanton Man Can (song parody)

I know this is kicking a guy while he's down. But as Aristotle said, "If you kick a guy while he's up, he'll bop you right in the face." So there ya go.

(to the tune of "The Candy Man" by Sammy Davis, Jr.)

    Who can take a baseball
    Throw it towards the plate
Watch it meet more wood than Paris Hilton on a date
    The Stanton man
    The Stanton man can
The Stanton man can cause he’s 98 years old he doesn’t
    Throw so good

Who can take a ball game
    Flush it down the hole
Then enjoy a visit from a guy they call Dick Pole
    The Stanton man
    Oh, the Stanton man can
The Stanton man can then he sticks you with the loss it doesn’t
    Feel so good

    The Stanton man makes
    All the hitters rake
    With his batting practice pitches
Keeps the other team in stitches
You should hear how Marty *****es

    Who can take a baseball
    Throw it off the mound
See his clothes go flying just like good ol’ Charlie Brown
    The Stanton man
    The Stanton man can
The Stanton man can when he pitches he could make a little
    Girl look good

    Priceless.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

Someone should probably email this to Stanton...he'd probably have a good laugh.

    Classic. Great stuff.
L.A. manager Grady Little had a bad feeling about Wednesday's game when he saw Harang and pitching coach Dick Pole walking in after Harang's warmup.

"I saw two big men," Little said. "Either could have shut us out tonight."

That is one of the best things I'm going to read today! Thanks for the effort Mr. Redlocks.
Makes me glad I finally registered...........
Now if the Stockings can go 74-33 the rest of the way they'll have a chance in this stellar division. They can begin tonight in Denver.

    Re: Mike Stanton

I'm really not sure what more a guy has to do to lose his job. There's no way Narron can have any confidence in him. They can't even use him as a LOOGY as lefties rock this guy. My guess is he has Eric Milton syndrome: the only reason he wasn't or hasn't been DFA'd earlier is because of his contract. What was he thinking giving this guy a 2 (with an option for a 3rd) year contract???
