Will Homer Bailey be called up Sunday?

I think he might be. It would be a good way for the Reds to make a splash. If the Reds win the next 3 or maybe even go 2-1, he will stay in Louisville. If they don't, I think he will be up Sunday.

What does everyone else think? Please post the % you think the chances are of seeing Bailey in a Reds uniform on Sunday.

    I say 75%.

If the Reds are smart, they'll wait until they are home. A sell out crowd in Cincy for his debut will be better than maybe 20 Reds fans in LA.

If the Reds are smart, they won't start his arbitration clock until 2008.

I have to agree. Not to mention Homer is conditioned to go 5 innings so what does him being recalled really accomplish?
It's absolutely pathetic that people can't have an opinion from actually watching games and supplementing that with stats. If you voice an opinion that doesn't fit into a black/white box you will get completely misrepresented and basically called a tobacco chewing traditionalist...

Boy, this franchise could use a character like Fidrych right now...(and someone who could pitch like he did, for that one brief, shining moment, too)

Some people play baseball. Baseball plays Jay Bruce.

    Zero %.

He's not ready. He needs to pitch much better in AAA before he gets called.

The Reds won't recall him until they believe he has a reasonable chance to succeed.

his 1976 season and the fan reaction was one of the greatest things to happen on the field in the last 30 plus years.

The start falls on Livingston's turn from what I understand. He makes the most sense due to being one of the last guys sent down after much success in the spring.

I think it will be Saarloos or Santos -- I think they're still in an "assessing the bullpen" mode, and I doubt they want to add evaluating a young starter to that right now.

If they intended to use Saarloos, I doubt they would hve pitched him yesterday.
