Reds Giving Up Too Many 2-Out RBIs

I've been noticing the Reds have been giving up a bunch of 2-out RBIs. In going back through the box scores since last Friday, it's amazing how ineffective the Reds have been in the past week in getting out of innings when they have 2-outs on their opponent.

Friday - Rockies 3 of its 6 runs scored with 2-outs (L)
Satuday - Rockies 1 of 9 runs (L)
Sunday - Rockies 1 of 3 runs (W)
Monday - Astros 3 of 5 runs (L)
Tuesday - Astros 6 of 7 runs (L)
Wednesday - Astros 3 of 3 runs (L)
Thursday - Astros 5 of 5 runs (W)
Friday - Dodgers 2 of 2 runs (L)
Saturday - Dodgers 5 of 7 runs (L)

Total: 29 of 47 runs (62%); without the Satuday Rockies game . . . 28 of 38 runs (74%). This trend is unacceptable and has to be the worst in the league. By comparison, the Reds in this stretch have scored 18 of its 45 runs with 2-outs (40%).

What would that 2-7 record be in this stretch if they could shut the door on an inning?

Maybe the starters are getting too relaxed when they have 2 outs?

We probably need one of the stats guys who seem to have such things at their finger tips to tell us how far this is off the norm before we get too off the wall. However I starting noticing this during the Astros series and it drives me batty too.

I put it down to the other guys just having a better idea what they need to get done and more of the mental toughness to do it than our guys.

Common sense tells us more runs are scored with 2 outs, than 1 out, and more runs are scored with 1 out than 0 outs, simply because there's likely more baserunners as an inning progresses, and therefore more opportunities to score.

But in that Astros series there were multiple times of 2 out and nobody on when the flood gates opened. Those are the ones thaty really torque me right up there with walking the opposing pitcher with 2 outs to allow the first run of the inning.

The Reds' hitters are performing nearly identically to the league average rate. The pitchers, however, are giving up more runs with both 0 or 2 outs; while giving up substantially less runs with 1 out. It is interesting to note that nearly the same amount of runs were scored with one out as with two. But does it really matter when the runs are scored?
