I know it's hard. Hell, I was even starting to board the "Trade Adam Dunn" bandwagon when he was in his slump. This team is in a big funk right now. They are not as bad as they have been playing.

Patience young grass hoppers. This team is close, maybe not this year, but they will be there soon enough.

    Not if Wayne's picking him.

No need to stay positive; being clear-eyed keeps you sane.

This team isn't close to anything; there's no foundation, there are only a couple of prospects and the team is leaning on them EXCLUSIVELY--they don't seem interested at all in making and winning trades.

I'm sure Krivsky is INTERESTED in doing it, he just doesn't have a clue in hell as to HOW it's done.

What do you based his draft picking ability on? He's only had 1 draft...

Just meant the pick would be in a great spot, not that they would do anything with it. Actually, this team will probably keep falling out of contention and then when it's too little, too late they'll put enough wins together to finish near the middle of the pack.

It's getting to the point though that I don't want to see faces like Milton, Lohse, Weathers, Stanton, Sarloos, Conine, Hatteberg, Conine, Castro, etc. instead of kids with a future.

I think scrappiness is actually a contraction for 'Such crappiness'. S'crapiness.

How long until we 'waive the white flag', and see Edwin and Votto up here?

The frustrating thing is that the Brewers could go 4-5 and the Reds would have to fight like mad in the final 6 games of this trip to NOT lose ground...

I hadn't thought so up to now but now I'm not so sure.

I guess the same question could be asked about the team as a whole too. Unfortunately, I think I'd have the same answer.
School's out. What did you expect?

Has this team held a players-only, closed-door team meeting yet? Isn't that what the leaders on a ballclub do when the ship is taking on massive amounts of water? Don't they huddle everybody up and try to get everyone on the same page? One could debate the merits of a closed-door team meeting; but how could it possibly hurt anything? Personally I think this ship is rudderless, that it has no leaders.

Big day for that trade. Cormier signs with a potential playoff team and Germano throws a shutout.
