Joey V. has an odd swing. It looks like he is stepping into the bucket.

That can't be right because Votto went 2-for-3 with a walk yesterday.

    No problem.

Stubbs reach on an error, Turner singled, and then Valaika followed with a 3-run HR, his third of the season.

    3-0 Dayton in the first.

    Webb: 1 ip, 0 h, 0 r, 0 bb, 1 k

Janish went 3-5 today boosting his average up to 281 along with 24 walks. Nice. How good of defense does he play?

Stubbs was hitting .298/.429/.614 coming into tonight for the month of May. He struggled in April, but those May numbers are the types of numbers I like to see.

Yep. It would be huge if Stubbs could continue to hit like this. The Reds lack middle of the order RH power bats in the systen. Stubbs could be that guy if he continues to rake.

How much of an unknown quantity was Stubbs's hitting before the draft? I remember reading that he was already a ML caliber defender, that he had good offensive potential, and that he had a problem with strikeouts. I guess what I'm asking is whether or not this May hot streak is an exception or whether we can expect it to be the rule.
