    Norris Hopper At Third?

He has been taking some ground balls there recently...could a EdE trade be on the horizon?

Even if he could play 3rd he's certainly not a long term solution there, most likely he's just trying to become a more complete bench player

    This makes no sense.

If you are going to put Norris Hopper at 3rd, then just play EE there. It makes no sense.

I'm sorry for beating a dead horse, but it makes no sense. I'm one of the bigger Norris Hopper fans you will find too.

Castro at 3rd makes even less sense, but it's been happening

At least Norris knows how to get on base.

Norris Hopper at 3B smacks of desperation. I'll not believe it until I see it.

    I'd rather see Reds44 at 3B!

I know how to play the game, if that means anything.

I'm bigger (well at least taller) then Ryan Freel.

I agree. He has played all three OF positions and 2B in the minors. I'm sure he is just trying to add to his resume.

as long as he's better than Dmitry Young at it, i don't really see the harm in your best bench player trying to expande his versatility.

    Re: Norris Hopper At Third?

I go have a sinking feeling that EdE is being shopped - there's been a lot of smoke in the last few days for there to be no fire - and if Hopper can be even vaguely adequate defensively at 3rd I'd rather see him there than Castro if you need to give Freel a day off.

Of course, in no way, shape, or form do I think EdE should be traded to begin with, and I hope trading everyday position players for bullpen arms isn't, like, Krivsky's modus operandi.

    *sigh*

This whole "pitching and defense" kick is really paying dividends.

One of maybe 5 or 6, not including members of Norris Hopper's family.

I still maintain that a hurt Chris Denorfia is better than a healthy Norris Hopper and this team shot itself in the foot by sending Denorfia to the A's where's he's going to win a Gold Glove in the AL, and OPS between .750 and .800 for his career.

I'd prefer that over Norris Hopper anyday.

Right now, Hopper's a Pinch Runner to me. Nothing more.

So we have a guy who can only pinch run and a guy who can only pinch hit (Javy)?

    Neat bench
    Go Gators!
