I'm sorry and I know we are all very excited about Jay Bruce and how he has been destroying the competition this season, but do you truly believe that he is the "best hitter by far in the minor leagues"?

Do you seriously think that Bruce is by far a better hitter than Evan Longoria? Just curious if you forgot about him or if you really believe that.

I rank the top hitters like so:

    1. Jay Bruce
    2. Justin Upton
    3. Evan Longoria
    4. Ryan Braun

    Gap to everyone else.

I am a huge fan of Longoria's, but I just think Jay Bruce's 1.031 OPS in the Florida State League is slightly more impressive than the 1.035 OPS that Longoria has put up in the Southern League. You can't go wrong with either one but I just like Bruce a little better.

    Re: 5/18/07 Minors Updates

Bruce better turn into a top 5 hitter in all of baseball in the next 5 years. If we ever want another World series, under the current CBA, we're gonna need a homegrown superstar at the plate ala Pujols or Miguel Cabrera. A 15- 20 win Bailey and a 30-40 HR 100-120 RBI Jay Bruce year after year will be the key to this. All signs look good right now but you never know. I'm willing to bet anything that we make the playoffs a few times in the next decade but these guys MUST become superstars if we will win the World Series in the next decade.
