I've been pretty guilty of that too Stormy. Didn't check in on the season until mid-last week. Been a bit busy with a cross-country move and all. Fortunately I haven't missed much with the on-the-field snoozefest so far this year.

With Stormy back, I'm feeling good karma. Maybe even something crazy like, a two game winning streak

Yes, the smarter RZ members pretty much guessed what the big surprise was going to be. But this year, I am adding a special twist.

In the past, I've started these tracker, "save the season" threads with a note of sarcasm and cynicism-- basically admitting at the outset that my efforts were futile. This year, that's not the case.

This year, this thread is GOING to propel the Reds to a turnaround.

Here is how it's gonna happen:

We play 40 games between now and the end of the day on the 4th of July. I am telling everyone right now, that the fireworks in Cincy that night will be celebrating our nation's independence, as well as the Reds getting themselves back into the race.

Between now and the 4th, the Reds are going to go 26-14. They will be 43-41 as the 4th comes to a close. That will put them in the thick of the playoff race down the stretch. Beyond that, I can't guarantee anything.

This is not a "hope," it is a fact.

If this doesn't happen, I will change my name to ILOVERFS62 for the rest of the season. That's how confident I am

It will start this week. We are going to take at least 6 of the 8 games on the homestand.

I will track our progress in this thread.

    Enjoy.

I rode it out to the end, Cyclone. I don't understand all of it, but I do get the main gist. If I got it right, it means the Reds have a chance!

Thanks for taking the time to tell me about this.

Thanks Wayne. Been another great year so far.
You are not... really. You are NOT saying that WK made a mistake in trading for Arroyo. You are not, are you?

26-14 is viable given the level of talent of the opponents we play over the next 40 games. However, we're going to have to get a lot more out of our diluted offense, more IPs per start from our key starters, and an immediate positive impact from the young additions in the BP. That's a tall order.
You have no idea how good it is to see you back. You have no idea.

    Bravo!!! Stormy's back!!

    You can make it 2-0.

    Saarloos will come through.

I like him a lot as a starter. I like him better than a reliever.

FWIW, because of the REDS' poor defense this year, a lot of the pitcher's ERA's have been much worse than how they've pitched. Saarloos is the leader of this group. He's pitched well and has a really bad ERA to show for it.

Expect him to give up only 2 or at most 3 earned runs in his start on Tuesday.

When I come down to Cincy to see a game, the only one I want to see getting bombed is me!

So far so good. Game #1 of the "new" Reds was great. I anxiously await game #2.
