Gruesome Rambo Trailer Slays On Internet

This is a link to the article. Once you arrive at this link, you can click another link if you wish to view the trailer. They aren't lying, it's pretty violent.

Personally, if he does as good a job on this new Rambo as he did with Rocky Balboa, I'll be very pleased.

Will the violence have to be toned down to avoid a rating of NC-17? Interesting question.

That was some serious blood and guts.

Sadly, there is no way that is getting by the namby-pamby MPAA. Much like with Grindhouse, I'll be passing on the theatrical release in favor of waiting for the Director's cut to come out on DVD.

    Violent? Yeah.
But, will it be more violent than Braveheart? Than Saving Private Ryan? Kind of difficult to tell from the trailers, but I would say: no.

Certainly unfair, but it seems horror films and straight-up action films are judged on a different scale than "cultured" fare such as Saving Private Ryan and Braveheart.

Actually, you make a very good point - and it seems the rating also favor those movies with "a message".
Then again, Rambo does seem to have a message of its own.

Too bad they didn't go with their other script idea, where Cool, Thorpe and Salami are taken hostage while on a goodwill basketball tour of SE Asia and John Rambo sneaks into the hostage-takers' compound and trains the Carver alumni to kick some butt as they escape through the jungle.

We've got a sitcom about the Geico cavemen and a movie version of 'Bewitched.' Surely there's room on the big screen for this awesome idea.

Do you really need to see the movie after seeing that trailer?

    What's your point?

With the exception of 'First Blood', all of the Rambo movies have been 'sick and retarded'. That doesn't make 'em any less entertaining. Sometimes 'sick and retarded' is exactly what I want out of a movie.
