Kyle Lohse pitching good from now until the end of July could be big for the future of this franchise. A dependable SP is something teams are always willing to overpay for and we could definitely land a couple good young players in return.

This is dependent on him pitching well though.

Yep. He didn't blow people away but he made decent pitches and got some nice help on D. Good job by Kyle.

As much credit that Lohse deserves, the defense deserves just as much. Just an outstanding day in the field for EE, a few great plays by Gonzo, and the DP that Hatteberg started and Ross finished was just sound fundamental ball.

Feels good to win. Glad Freel isn't seriously injured and hope to see him back soon.

This game epitomizes great baseball. Good pitching, situational hitting, and great defense. (I actually can't bring myself to watch the games live...Tivo is wonderful.)

The big question is: can they do it twice in a row? Trend says no but we can always hope.

Lohse is showing the exact inconsistency that has plagued him throughout his career. He'll have some spectacular games followed by terrible games. Nothing new here.

Well... he was kind of sick during his last start. Enough so that Arroyo offered to start in his place. I know what you mean though.

Which is why I posted about five days ago that Narron was a fool to start Lohse.

Hats off to Kyle, but I have a feeling we shall see more of the "Good Lohse, Bad Lohse" act throughout the remainder of the season. His two wins look like the anomalies next to the rest of the season's body of work thus far. Here's hoping he can carry over some effectiveness to his next start.

It was great to see things go the reds way for a change. Loshe was not great today but the defense played great and the hard hit balls went right at people. Reds pitchers have had a whole lot of bad luck lately. Softly hit balls just seem to find a place to fall. Plus the defense has been horrible.
