I will be making my 3rd round pick soon in my 14 team keeper league. This is my roster with my keepers and first 2 draft picks. Does anyone have suggestions?
Keepers were Roy Oswalt,Aaron Harang, Adam Dunn,Brandon Phillips, Ryan Zimmerman and Derek Jeter.
My draftpicks were:
1:4 Joe Nathan,Rp Twins
2:4 Dice K, SP,Redsox.
you need offense and a lot of it

we can't really help you without a ton of information
I agree with this for sure. You currently have only one guy who will have a batting average over .300 (Jeter), 1 guy with 35/110 potential (Dunn) and 2 guys who at best will be around 30/90 (Phillips & Zimmerman)
In a 14 team league you are way ahead of the curve with SPs, having Oswalt, Harang, and Dice K.
I would draft the best offensive player for the next 3-5 rounds, looking for 25-90 potential in all of them if possible. Maybe try to find another steals option.
I think you took Nathan a little early, as I would never use a 7th round pick to take a closer. I tend to take my first closer more in the 9th or 10th round. Never done a 14 team league though so...
Thanks for the advice. With pick 3:4 I selected 2b Rickie Weeks at the utility spot so far. This is my roster so far and what spots needing to be filled. Should I try for a 1b like laroche or a outfielder or maybe Lugo etc? Any advice?

I would try to get a sleeper next round. If Bruce is still available, take him. You already have a SS, so cross off Lugo. I like LaRoche, so that's probably not a bad pick. BTW, Weeks was a good pick. I think he's going to have a good season after his second half rebound last year.
-LTlabnerIf you can't build a winning team with that core a fire-sale isn't the solution. Selling the franchise, moving them to Nashville and converting GABP into a used car lot is.
No way you take Bruce that early. He would still be available in the last 5 rounds for sure. I would go for some guys that are proven and you know are every day starters for sure. I'd get the best offensive player available again.

Not sure I like the Weeks pick...kind of wasted at UT. I would look to shop Phillips for a monster OFer.
If you look at someone like Randy Winn, he might likely bring what Weeks will...with less risk. And I would guess at least a few rounds later.
I don't really like the team so far. The Weeks pick was very bad. It's not that he wont be good, its that he's at a high risk to get injured. There's also no reason to use up that UTL spot so quick. Probably go for a OF or 1B, but you need a big bat with HR/RBI help. Zimm/Jeter/Weeks all project less than 25HR, but all at most 90 RBI.
Another bad thing about Weeks is that he's a low AVG type of guy, and that's going to hurt a lot with Dunn in there. He's only had 112 RBI in 316 games (2 seasons).

True, but none of the three should be taken that early. Granted I don't know who was available at the time so I could very easily be talking out of my butt, but an educated guess tells me there are some better options. A guy like Adrian Gonzalez should be available I would think (someone of his production I mean 290/25/90). Hard to say not seeing the draft board though.

With pick 4:4 I selected OF Johnny Damon. The outfielders were going fast. This is my roster so far and what spots needing to be filled. Should I try for a 1b like laroche or another outfielder or maybe a catcher or another Pitcher? Any advice?
