    Conine likely to play outfield

    Conine likely to play outfield
    Wednesday, May 30, 2007 7:43 pm EDT
Cincinnati Reds manager Jerry Narron said he'll consider using Jeff Conine in the outfield with both Ryan Freel and Josh Hamilton on the disabled list.

Conine hasn't played outfield for the Reds this season. But he has played 928 games there in his career.

Conine plays only left or right field. Would Narron consider playing Conine, Ken Griffey Jr. and Adam Dunn together, meaning Griffey would play center field?

"No comment," Narron said with a smile.

Hopefully tonight's performance by Norris Hopper will put this idea to rest.
