Minor Leaguers you'd like to see the Reds trade for

Pick a couple of prospects you'd like to see the Reds acquire. They have to be realistic, So Philip Hughes is out. Guys that have a high upside, or are performing better than possibly expected

I'd Like to see the Reds target Chance Douglass in the Astros organization. He's currently at AA 39K's in 46 IP. 3.66 ERA. I don't know if the Texas League is a hitter or pitchers league, but his numbers are pretty decent. He is currently 23 years old.

This may not qualify, but I'd love to see Andrew Miller and/or Cameron Maybin in a Reds uni. Adam Dunn anyone?

I've always liked the Rockies' Ubaldo Jimenez, a SP prospect in AAA, but he's fallen on hard times since last year. Not sure if they are injury related or if he's just fizzling out. That kid was simply awesome a year or two ago, though, he'd strike out hitters in the double digits every time out. Wait for the complete fall out, then pounce on him, I'd say.

I also like two Angels' Single A players: C Hank Conger and SP Tim Schoeninger.

Heck, who am I kidding, I like a lot of minor league players, but those are 3 that I keep a mental note on to check.

A fourth player would be the Orioles' Nolan Reimold, an OF out of Bowling Green.

How about Lou Palmisano of the AA Milwaukee team? Good hitting catcher, only 24 years old, and with a name like Palmisano, you know Castellini would love him. If only they could find a pitcher with the last name Sanzone, then you'd have a battery of Sanzone-Palmisano.

Me too. Just proposed a Votto/Salty deal in another thread.
All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!

To start out why not go with a prospect from Krivskys' favorite trading acquantinence, the Minnesota Twins.
    Eduardo Morlan
W L ERA G GS SV IP H ER HR BB SO BAA
    2 1 2.60 16 0 8 27.2 18 8 0 3 39 .175

High strikeouts and stunning control are a plus but his numbers as a starter last year are just as good if not better and he is only 21.

W L ERA G GS SV IP H ER HR BB SO BAA
    5 5 2.29 28 18 2 106 78 27 6 38 125 .202

A second strong candiate pitching wise is Michael Zagurski from Philly. Numbers really show on this 24 year old lefty as he has yet to allow a HR in his minor league carrier. Not only that but he has averaged 16.875 K/9 so far this year.

With the lack of sufficient catching prospects a seemingly quick fix could be as easy as the Rangers Taylor Teagarden who in his first full season this year has maintained a .333 average while knocking out 9HR in only 108AB.

The Mariners hold a second option as a catcher with Jeff Clement as his progression from AAA is prevented by Kenji Johjima. His increasingly diminishing value due to his stubborness leave him swinging for little more than power alone at the plate. This combined with an unsuprising .244 BA would likely keep Krivsky from wanting him. Regardless his power potential and potentially low asking price are to much to pass up.

One of the most reasonable to acquire and probably the easiest would be Neil Walker of the Pirates. Walking away with impressive prospect Brent Lillibridge in the Adam LaRoche deal last year proves the Pirates will deal about anyone away for the right price, which in most cases is little to nothing. Walker is not only a switch-hitter but also posses smooth line drive skills. Converted to third from catcher he is in route to vault up prospect lists soon.

    Other notable mentions include:
    SS Sean Rodriguez LAD

    RHP Dellin Betances NYY

    1B Joe Mather STL

stopping short but the list could go on forever.

Salty would fill a huge whole in the organization as the only viable Major League catcher in the whole organization is in A-ball. ...and as was mentioned, would love to have a premium player at this position.
