    One Down.... Two To Go

My oldest boy Aaron just graduated. Hopes to go to Devry next year majoring in information technology.

In this simply beautiful weather, they had the ceremonies inside. Unreal. That auditorium was one huge hot house. I think everyone lost about 5 pounds sweating.

My school did the same thing last year, it was miserable inside.

    Congrats to him though.

Re: One Down.... Two To Go

My wife and are were sitting outside this morning, enjoying the beautiful morning and talking about last night, and while yes it is an important milestone in a young person's career (took plenty of pics), there sure is a lot of pomp and circumstance. In reality they are quite boring and everyone there was watching their watches, checking their programs, and saying to themselves "speed it up! speed it up!".

And the girls always make out (no pun intended) at these graduation ceremonies. When they were announcing the top 10 seniors, according to grad pt average, me and a couple other Dads were sitting there watching all these girls getting called forward and wondering "Are any guys gonna make it?" The last one was, and we wanted to stand up and grunt!

The boringest part of the program though, and again it was hot/humid as could be in there, were all the "sappy" musical numbers and student speeches mixed in. Again, all girls, and always the same ones over and over again. I was waiting for them to start tap dancing. Myself, and quite a few others, thought it was a little too much. It was like when Sally Fields finally won an Academy Award.
