Cruz isn't on the 40 man roster anymore. He was waived (and cleared) a week or so ago, so he and Janish are in the same boat.

I forgot about that. Still, he'd have to be added to be called up, and if he were lost to someone through waivers, the Reds wouldn't be losing someone with much value. However, with Lopez, the Reds could be very high on him and reluctant to subject him to the waiver wire. With Castro on the roster, I could see the Reds having Phillips as the third-string shortstop while Cruz or Lopez is the backup to second base or shortstop. Then again, the more I think about it, the more plausible it would be for Keppinger to be called up.

Lopez is already on the 40 man roster, so calling him up to the big leagues wouldn't affect that.

Why do people continue to want to call up Single A players? I know its just an idea..but its a bad one. probably same people who wanna bring up Bruce and Cueto asap.
