Bailey Debuts Friday

Homer Bailey, Cincinnati's No. 1 pick in the 2004 draft, will make his much-anticipated Major League debut this Friday at Great American Ball Park as the Reds kick off an Interleague series with the Cleveland Indians.

Bailey, the 2006 Sheldon "Chief" Bender Award winner as the organization?s Minor League Player of the Year, has spent the entire 2007 season with the Class-AAA Louisville Bats, going 6-1 with a 2.31 ERA and 51 strikeouts in 58 innings pitched.

In each of the past three seasons, he has been rated by Baseball America as the top prospect in the organization.
