    Top of third inning:

Hopper makes an out (sorry, bathroom break). 1 out.
Hamilton doubles to left. Runner on second.
Phillips to SS, thrown out at first. Runner on third. 2 outs.
Dunn (cheated out of double in first inning) works count from 0-2 to full; SO on changeup. 3 outs.

    After 2 and a half, 2-0 Cards.

Based on similar principles, these Brewers are for real and are going to be for the rest of this decade. I'm currently watching them have their way with the Cubs.

I'd say the Brewers are about as real as the next injury to Ben Sheets.

Sold ya on Cordero, natch? Insanely smart GM-ing to cash fattypockets in for the most underrated arm this side of Brad Lidge.

    Middle of 3rd inning:

Pujols 6-3 put out. 1 out.
Edmonds SO looking (didn't like the call). 2 outs.
Spiezio flies out to right. 3 outs.

    After 3, 2-0 Cardinals.

Yeah, that's my take on it. When the Brew Crew has faced real competition they've sucked this season.

Further, they've had chances to run away and hide from the Cards when they've been getting no production from Pujols and Rolen. That won't last forever. Wainwright will come around, Carpenter could come back this season, Looper's been your typical Dave Duncan revelation. They can get it done. If they stay healthy, they probably will.

And the Cardinals have sucked against everybody. Kip Wells, Wainwright, Looper, Wellemeyer. What a horrible rotation.

Wells has been awful. If Duncan can't save him, he can't be saved.
