It's live on ESPN right now. One out and Kendall is at bat.

Stewart breaks it up on a first pitch fastball.

No walks, 1 hit and an error... pretty tidy outing.

I hate Curt Schilling. I'm glad he lost his bid for the no-hitter.

He was throwing nothing but fastballs in the ninth. Great performance, but I didn't think that was particularly bright. I understand going at the hitters with your best pitch, but the difference between 93-94 and 97-98 is vast, from what I understand. He should have kept Stewart a little more honest.

I remember watching Rick Wise, then with the Red Sox, lose a no-hitter with two outs in the ninth inning when George Scott, then with the Brewers, homered. I believe Wise ended up losing the game. Mario Soto had a similar game against the Cardinals when george Hendrick homered in the ninth.

Varitek wanted a slider, Schilling shook him off.

But not as impressive as Jose Rijo's outing in Oakland on October 20, 1990... right, REDS fans? 8.1IP, 2H, 1ER, the win... and a ring.

Small market fan... always hoping, but never expecting.

And then there was the REDS Ron Robinson...

On May 2, 1988, with 2 outs in the ninth and having pitched a perfect game to that point Ron Robinson of the Cincinnati REDS gave up a hit to the Expos' Wallace Johnson. Robinson then allowed a two-run homer to Tim Raines and was removed from the game. The final score was 3-2, with Robinson the winner.
