It is what it is. This isn't destruction. Possibly for future destruction next year? Maybe. But he is still learning. He has holes in his game that need some work. If those holes close, he could destroy AA next year. But he isn't there yet.

Wait, you are telling me a 20 year old has holes in his game? Please find me one that doesn't. Those guys come around about as often as Ken Griffey Jr and Alex Rodriguez types do. Twice in about 30 years.

I'm I the only one that thinks Bruce could lose some weight? I know that's nit picking, but....

Jay is lighting up Sarasota. He has room for improvment, but all 20 year olds do. He is doing much more then expected.

Watson and Mateo imploded in the 7th, giving up a combined 5 runs. Dragons now down 6-4 in the 9th.

Yet, your talking about Jay like he IS Griffey or Rodrigquez. He isn't. He is a
20 year old youngster that is still developing. Destroying high A would mean he shows complete mastery of the level. He hasn't. He has done well, but not that well.

The terrible Jay Bruce hit a sac fly in his next atbat.

Doug, it's like talking to that wall over there. My suggestion is to just leave it at that and stop wasting your time.

Dragons lost 8-4. Francisco, Parker, and Valaika homered. Stubbs 0 for 4.

no, I am not doing any such thing. Griffey and Arod were maybe the two best prospects that ever played. At age 20 they were each destroying the major leagues.

You are right, Jay is still developing, just like every other 20 year old baseball player in history. If Jay has done well, then I really would like to know what someone doing very well actually is. Jay is 3rd in AVG, 1st in SLG, 1st in OPS, 4th in runs, 2nd in hits, 4th in doubles, 1st in triples, 4th in HRs, 4th in RBI, 1st in Extra Base Hits and 1st in total bases. Seriously, thats doing well? All while being the 9th youngest player in High A (not the FSL, all of High A).

I don't think Aronchis is saying anyone is terrible especially Bruce, I feel he is preaching patience. The key to good minor league development is patience and the Reds in my opinion have done a good service to many of their prospects by not rushing them. I think many prospects like Watson, Cueto, and Bruce will be evaluated during the All Star break for possible moves to the next level.
If you have a losing record at Reds games, please stop going.

Let me echo earlier sentiments: It's GREAT to see Richie Gardner doing well in AA.

24 K in 21 IP with 0 HR in AA. Yum

While it's true that Bruce is no Adam Jones (everything's better in teal), he's pretty nifty and definately on the fast track...
