I guess Mead thought his men were too tired & worn out after that battle, and it's hard to argue since he was there & knew their condition, but that sure had the potential to be a golden opportunity if the Union had been able to take advantage of it.

Also, did Chamberlain really call for the bayonet charge on Little Round Top, or did he simply take credit for someone else's idea? Was it really an organized charge, or did some men initiate it & others follow?
