The Homer's First Start Line Prediction Thread

Real simple; fill in the blanks:

    Code:
IP	H	R	ER	BB	SO	HR

    ________________
    My guess
    Code:
IP	H	R	ER	BB	SO	HR

    5.1	6	4	3	2	6	2

For those of you not comfortable with the code, delete the !s and replace the (TAB) with actual tabs.

    [!code][!B]IP(TAB)H(TAB)R(TAB)ER(TAB)BB(TAB)SO(TAB)HR
    [/B][/code]

Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

    My guess
    Code:
IP	H	R	ER	BB	SO	HR

    4.2	3	4	4	5	3	1
I think he's going to have a lot of adrenaline flowing, and he's already a bit wild. Hughes had a rough first start for the Yankees, and I expect the same from Homer.

Game gets rained out - Bailey doesn't pitch and doesn't get added to the roster

Lookin nasty for the moment - I'm sure it will clear up by game time.

I think that's the line of storms that hit north of KC yesterday. They were fairly intense, but extremely short.

The NWS forecast has showers hitting Dayton between 1 and 4pm.

    That's pretty small area.

JF - did you get some nasty weather? I heard some tornadoes were in Southern Iowa.

    I'll wager my guess:

    Code:
IP	H	R	ER	BB	SO	HR

    6	4	3	3	4	3	1
I'm counting on just a so-so start. He won't dominate, but he won't self destruct, either.

That code things still confuses me. I need a tutorial.

    Anyway:

    5.2 ip, 6 hits, 4 bb, 5 k, 4 er. Reds lose 6-1

Re: The Homer's First Start Line Prediction Thread

I won't predict a pitching line but I hope he goes 0-4 at the plate. That means he has pitched an effective game win or lose. That's all I'm looking for out of Bailey,an effective performance to build upon.

Re: The Homer's First Start Line Prediction Thread

    IP -- 4.1
    H -- 7
    R -- 5
    ER -- 4
    BB -- 4
    K -- 3
    HR -- 1

Cleveland is a very good offensive club, and they'll be stoked for the ballyhooed rookie. Homer's going to be way amped and will have trouble getting ahead in the count.
