    Out of country visitors

Ok friend from Spain is coming with his girlfriend (she doesn't speak english) to Cincinnati for about a week. He has been here many times and stayed in Cincinnati for months at a time. Meeting in New York for 4 days, then coming to Cincy for 7. He mentioned maybe show her another City.

Figure, we'll do the reds, bengals (both in town), zoon, kings island. Then maybe a 2 day drive trip. First two that come to mind are Chicago or Nashville. If they just did New York would they really want to go to Chicago? Nashville is more of a change and shows another part of country but is there enough to do?

    Any thoughts or suggestions?

Chicago over Nashville any day of the week, it's a monster city and the lake front is great in the summer.

Last time I was in Asheville they were having a frisbee golf tournament downtown. They were dragging the goal all over the place and a crowd of about 500 spectators were following them all around. It was hilarious; one guy had a caddy.

I'd agree here. While Ashville is not my kind of town, you really would get a nice contrast with the beautiful mountain setting and modern hippie culture. Plenty of great bars and a unique people with just a touch of southern to it. Bring your patchouli and crafts though.

Nashville is a hole IMHO and, yes, I have spent a good ammount of time there.

How old are you guys? I havn't personally been there but my girlfriends and all her friends spent a bachlorette party in Indy one weekend and loved the downtown atmosphere. I have been to chicago and loved it. The only drawback is that it is a 5 hour drive and it is a little expensive.

Five hours is a long drive?

It only took me 4 1/2 the last time I went up there, but that was without stopping. Anyway, Chicago is a great town to visit for a day. The last few times I've been there I haven't had any time to do anything, drop off and pick up and back home, but there's so much to do there and it's really not that far away.

Nashville will keep you busy for quite a while. There's lots of stuff to see and do and a wide variety of music styles can be seen on any given night.

And we do have more than 2 movie theaters. (In fact, when the Hollywood 27 opened in the late 90's, it was the 2nd largest theater in America.)
