2006 (Junior):
Set the school record for appearances in a single season with 28, breaking the previous record of 27 that was set in 1995....Led the Big Ten during the regular season in appearances and finished the year second in the conference....A very valuable situational lefthanded reliever out of the bullpen, he led all Penn State relievers with a 2.10 ERA ....Also led the team in saves with two....Gave up just six earned runs in 25.2 innings while walking just four and striking out nine....One of only two pitchers on the staff who did not allow any stolen bases, as the only two that attempted against him were thrown out....Did not allow any earned runs in 24 of his 28 appearances and overall did not allow any runs in 21 of his 28 appearances....Did not allow any earned runs in nine straight appearances, spanning 8.1 innings and later in the year did not allow an earned run in 11 consecutive appearances, spanning 12 innings....Held lefties to a .250 average on the year. Game-by-Game Highlights: Pitched a third of an inning vs. West Virginia (2-26), recording a key strikeout with runners in scoring position to send the game into extra innings....Pitched 1.1 scoreless innings vs. Central Michigan (3-6)....Allowed just one hit and an unearned run while striking out two in a 3.2 inning stint vs. Toledo (3-11)....Pitched a scoreless inning at Furman (3-18)....Made two appearances in the Arizona State series (3-24 - 3-26), throwing a combined scoreless inning with just one hit allowed....Picked up his first save of the year and his first career save by throwing two-thirds of an inning and inducing a double play with the tying run at the plate to end the game in the Big Ten opener at Minnesota (3-31)....Had his first scoreless inning and appearances streak snapped when he allowed one run while striking out one in the series finale at Minnesota (4-2)....Allowed one hit and had a strikeout while allowing two unearned runs vs. Iowa (4-7)....Got the final out of the fifth inning in Penn State’s curfew-shortened 11-10 win over Iowa in six innings (4-9)....Appeared in all four games of the Michigan State series (4-14 - 4-16), throwing a combined two innings and not allowing a run....Tossed a scoreless inning at Northwestern (4-23)....Picked up his second save of the year by preserving a one-run lead in the ninth inning to save the game for Alan Stidfole in a 5-4 win over Indiana (4-28)....Pitched a career high five innings of relief in an extra-inning game vs. Indiana (4-29), allowing just three hits but was tagged with the loss when an unearned run scored in the 11th inning....Set down 11 straight batters at one point in relief of Mark Wyner....Pitched 1.2 innings in a win over Purdue (5-8), and gave up a run that ended his second scoreless inning and appearance streak but held the lead for Scott Gaffney’s first save of the year....Tossed a scoreless inning vs. Michigan (5-13)....Went two-thirds of an inning without allowing a run at Villanova (5-16)....Made his record-breaking 28th and final appearance of the year at Ohio State (5-20), pitching a third of a scoreless inning.

In first career appearance and first win, struck out two batters with no runs and no hits against UNC-Wilmington (2/25); Struck out one in win over Monmouth (3/7); Didn’t allow a hit or any runs in 1.1 innings of work in win over St. Bonaventure (3/29); Pitched 0.2 scoreless innings with one strikeout in win vs. Bucknell (3/30); Pitched 1.0 perfect inning of relief in two appearances at Michigan State (5/13-15).
