490 HR'S as of 6/16/07 wont be 32 until next month
can he get to 800? of course we all know how injuries
can play in overall lifetime numbers. I say with out injury
    he can get to 825

without injury, and depending on how friendly of a park he ends up in after this year.......

Yankees fans definitely don't deserve him. Suffering Reds fans do.

I think 800 is the over/under. If he ends up in the right park that number could grow.

In no way would ARod ever want to come here but I think we'd be a playoff team if we took the money Dunn and Milton were getting and give $20 mil. to ARod. And at GABP I think his over/under number would be 850.

UC, bringing in AROD wont make the Reds a playoff team. Offense isnt the Reds problem. Its pitching. Spend the $20 million on Zambrano and more pitching.

    JUst some thoughts....

My perception is that a rotation of Harang, Arroyo, Bailey, Belisle, and another starter gives us an above average rotation. Offensively it would give us the RH power that we don't have to compliment the other players. I'm also assuming the young guys in the bullpen improve. But I admit to always being overly optimistic when it comes to my teams.

Well.. in my humble opinion... Harang is a good #23 guy. Arroyo is not very good. He has been above his head for a couple of years and I wouldnt put too much stock in the guy. Bailey is 21 years old and has a load of potential, but it is way early to know whether he will pan out. Belisle? End of the rotation guy at best.

My point is, the Reds dont have a true ACE. If you guys got that and a little bullpen help, you could be a very good team.

Really? How so? Harang? Career 4.23 ERA and 1.33 WHIP? ERA + of 106

Career ERA+ of a true MLB Ace

    Oswalt 141
    Clemens 144
    Santana 143
    Webb 139
    Johnson 137
    Zambrano 128
    Maddux 135

Just a few examples of what numbers an ACE has. Harang is a very nice pitcher, but he just isnt an "ACE".

Keep in mind.. this is just my opinion. Dont get mad...

So, you wouldn't consider a guy who led the NL in K's, W's and CG's a number one? Take a look at who did that last year.

    Re: A-ROD the final number

Harang is a true ace, tell me why he is not. The problem is that Arroyo could be hurt or a one year wonder and other than him there is no one that is a true #2 or even #3 starter right now. (We all hope Bailey is on his way, he certainly has the stuff) The bullpen is also in a really really bad way and there is a problem with the offense producing runs outside of homers. The defense also leaves alot to be desired. This team is just simply not very good and will need to make some changes sometime soon or this will continue for years to come. One offseason will not be enough to fix this(though it would be nice just to get going into the right direction) and we'll never be able to afford A-Rod.
