Could Junior hit 700 Home Runs?

He looks like a rejuvenated man.

Is Griffey dialed in or is Griffey dialed in?! WOW.

When you see him going out to CF you know he's swinging the bat well.

Balls that would have died on the warning track more likely than not over the past few seasons are now carrying into the stands. Junior's legs are as strong right now as I've seen them since he's been in Cincinnati. Wonderful to see.

I think getting him out of CF has helped as much as anything else to keep him healthy(knock wood), fresh, and productive.

Could Griffey get to 700 home-runs?

    He needs 119 more.

Figure, for argument's sake, that he gets the 19 more needed to eclipse 600 this season.

Play for 3 more seasons, averaging 33 a season? Play four more seasons averaging 25? Maybe DH for a couple of those seasons?

If he has the inclination to keep playing, I think he can do it.

Getting him out of CF was a revelation.

He'd have to play four more season, you'd think, and really I could see him doing it. Much more likely to happen if he moves to an AL team, but as the years go by I'm more and more pleased with the idea of Junior finishing his career in Cincinnati with a chance to get a ring in one his last few seasons.

Yes he could and he would be really close or already there if he hadnt missed so many games due to injury.Like Ive told a lot of people over the past 4 or 5 years Jr. is still one of the best 10 players in the game when hes healthy.

How long is his contract? I think he has 3 more years plus an option year. I think he could do it if we keep him for 4 years(a big if).

I thought he was signed through next season with an option year after that?

If Junior wants to stay in Cincinnati he'll stay there. I'm sure the contract will not be an issue at that point...he'll probably ask for 7-8 million a year, if that, which the team will put up if he continues to produce.
He holds all the cards to these last few years of his career. If he wants to go to a contender he'll simply ask to go and it will happen.

Until this year everyone was asking how long till Junior's contract expires. Now they want to sign him to an extension. I just think it's a bit funny

I've never been one to want Junior out of Cincy. So watch what you say about everyone!

It's really hard to tell with Griffey, considering his injuries and all. He obviously has the talent to reach 700, but can his body take it?

My take on this: yes he can do it. If he plays at least 5 more years (putting him at 42), and if he goes to the AL as a DH, I don't see why he can't.
