It's nice to see Griffey DH'ing, but I still don't get the lineup order. Hopper leading off? Griffey and Dunn not batting back-to-back? There wasn't much wrong with the lineup Narron trotted out against the Angels and Rangers in slots 1-6, why not keep it the same except to throw Hopper in at the bottom somewhere in the 7-9 slots?

    1B Hatteberg
    2B Phillips
    DH Griffey
    LF Dunn
    3B Encarnacion
    CF Hamilton
    Some combo of Gonzalez/Ross/Hopper

Dunn won player of the week so it must be time to drop him to 5th and split up he and Griffey. Jerry Narron is a menace.
School's out. What did you expect?

Considering how well Adam Dunn has hit in the cleanup spot this year (.421/.488/.895 - 1.383) compared to the fifth spot (.191/.282/.368 - .650), it makes perfect sense to drop Dunn in the order to fifth. Not. Jerry Narron is a clueless dolt. Please fire him. Now.

I guess Phillips' hand is ok...good to see him back in the lineup after getting nailed yesterday

It's like Narron waits for Dunn to do well and then drop him

if he were to get a player of the month he might end up batting 7th or 8th.

Batting Hopper leadoff probably lessened that burning in his nethers.

Seriously...because before his latest hot streak, the "in" place to hit Dunn was 2nd, because he had a 1.010 OPS there last season and a .748 OPS hitting 4th in '06.

If Dunn was the offensive force some believe he is, batting order shouldn't matter that much. It will make a difference, but not .700 worth in OPS.

This isn't saying that Narron shouldn't find an order and stick with it. He should. But we can't blame Dunn's struggles while hitting 5th on batting order alone. He's a big boy and one of the better offensive players around. Deal with it and produce.

Sorry, I forgot that bashing Dunn was the popular thing to do.
