    6/20 Minors Updates

Cueto, proving that peripheral numbers are overrated, has five strikeouts and no walks in two innings today against Clearwater. But he's allowed 4 runs (3 earned) as Sarasota trails 4-0.

Jay Bruce and Adam Rosales not playing; reach your own conclusions.

Sarasota, of course, wrapped up its division title last night. However, Sarasota has played one more game than Tampa (in second place) and could, after today, lead by only 1/2 game -- reflecting a victory in that additional game.

Carlos Bohorquez has thrown 3 scoreless innings in relief of Cueto. He's allowed 1 hit and 1 walk with 5 Ks. Still 4-4 in the 7th.

    I don't understand Cueto.

Sarasota wins 7-4. This ends the team's first half. Best record in the FSL. Hopefully, some guys get moved up.

Bohorquez and Ruzic with 5 innings of scoreless relief. (Do they realize what organization this is?)

Josh Ravin is the starter for Billings tonight. The GCL Reds are off. Dumatrait and Kershner are Louisville's starters for tonight's doubleheader.

    Bats lose 4-0.
Votto extends his on base streak to 42 with a single in his last AB. He's 1-3.
Dickerson goes 1-2 with a bunt single, and a great diving grab.
    Dumatrait:5 IP, 5 H, 3 ER, 3 BB, 2 K
    Saarloos: 1 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 0 K (4.86 ERA in AAA)

Louisville plays a DH, so game two will start in like a half hour.

    Re: 6/20 Minors Updates

Not much to report from the first half of Louisville's double header, since they lost 4-0 and had 2 hits. Votto did get one in his last at bat to run his on-base streak to 42 games. Dickerson had the other. Dumatrait gave up 3 runs in 5 innings, Saarloos a run in 1 inning. Just 7 innings since it's a DH.

Edit: And I'm about 30 seconds too slow!

I'm not worried about Cueto. I love seeing the zero walks and seven strikeouts in four innings. We don't know all the details about his start, for all we know he could have allowed a bunch of dinks and dunks.

Bats lead 2-1 after 3. Herr and Gutierrez had back to back RBI doubles off of Jeremy Sowers, who can't seem to escape the Reds organization. Kershner, making his first start since 2004 with the Blue Jays according to the announcers, did give up a solo HR in the 3rd. Keppinger just got gunned down at the plate in the 4th.

    Re: 6/20 Minors Updates

For those of you who compared Votto to Dunn out in LF, that needs to stop. Votto is much lighter on his feet, and does not lumber like Dunn does. Votto is 6-3 and only 220, while Dunn is 6-6 275. Votto just seems like much more of an athlete and better on his feet.

With that being said, I haven't seen Votto's arm (although he is a former catcher and I don't think his arm is that important in LF in the first place) and he certainly could get bigger considering he is only 23.
