For the second straight game, the Reds got back-to-back homers in the first inning--this time from Eric Davis and Dave Parker.

Another of one of my all time favorite names in MLB pinch hit for the Expos in this game,John Boccabella. Do any of you old timers like me remember how the Expos PA announcer annuciated his name? John Boccaaaaaaaaabelllllllaaaaaaa. When the Expos played at Jarry Park they always seemed to have a very loud and active crowd. But when they moved to Olympic Stadium their enthuiasm seemed to have just died. I guess it just reminded them how much taxes they were paying out to build that stadium. It just too depressing to cheer like they did at old Jarry Park. IMO, along with 1994 strike, moving to Olympic Stadium killed that franchise as much as anything did.

The Tracer always had a bit of a temper. Of course, he was replaced in RF by the powderkeg known as Paul O'Neill.

Jones talked about his fights and this fight in particular on the Brennaman/Jones AM radio spot yesterday. A lively read...
