    Well I hope he enjoys coaching the White Sox

    This reminds me of Pinella last year, we didn't have a shot at him either.

    In a few years, when the MLBPA adds a clause to the Basic Agreement giving players the ability to hire and fire managers via a democratic process, Girardi will be all set. Up until the time that happens, he'll need to prove he can get along with his GM and owner, too.

    I don't think it'll ever a requirement of the manager's job to be endorsed by the media, although it makes the job easier to keep if the press likes you.
