Narron sure loves to use Conine as the cleanup hitter.

That Burrell is a very expensive bench player.

    Career vs Moyer:

    Conine - .360/.433/.760/1.193 in 29 plate appearances
    Junior - .364/.417/.636/1.053 in 24 plate appearances
Gonzalez is 4-4 with 2 doubles and a homerun.

The need to know info is what Castro hits.

2-7 with a homerun. Good enough for a .286/.286/.714 line. I'm surprised Jerry didn't start him.

Nah, much better to save a bat like that for a late inning PH assignment.

Not alot of good options vs. LHPs, especially based on this year's stats. Not sure that's Narron's fault.

    Re: 6/27/2007 Reds vs Phils

    Kind of inconsistent.

I love Hamilton leading off, but it would seem that Narron's so matchup crazy that leading off a lefthander would be taboo. Strange.

Why is Phillips always batting at the top of the order? Oh, I forgot. Speed. Never mind that his OBP is, at .324 only 6th best. Jerry's lineup in OBP is:

    .359
    .324 (Phillips)
    .385
    .340
    .361
    .346
    .297
    .255

Conine at cleanup is really strange when your two power hitters are batting 3rd and 5th. Whoa! I forgot our two power hitters are leftys. Never mind their former success against the pitcher. We must split up those leftys, right?

It's really not that bad of a lineup (lilke I said, i especially like Hamilton leading off), but I would prefer:

    Hamilton (.359)
    Encarnacion (.346)
    Griffey (.385)
    Dunn (.361)
    Conine (.340)
    Phillips (.324)
    Gonzo (.297)
    Ross (.255).

    I wouldn't bunch the lefties.

Not a bad idea to switch EE and Phillips for OBP reasons. Of course, in every other facet of the game Phillips is head and shoulders above EE this year. EE needs to get better or he is a minus as a third baseman. He's still young though.

Here are their respective year to date OBP's (and OPS) vs. LH pitching

    Hamilton .339 (.673)
    Phillips .360 (.970)
    Griffey .360 (.897)

    Gonzo .280 (.613)
    Ross .261 (.690)

Encarnacion is also better with RISP.
