Having the guy get smacked around to the tune of an 8.10 ERA can't really be helping his development.

let him takes his lumps bonderman did and look how he turned out. He's not pitching that bad getting squeezed alittle today. Let him work out his bumps he just needs to find that complimentary pitch to his fastball.
He's a whole lot more likely to develop his complementary stuff in Louisville where he belongs. Bringing him up is just one more evidence of the incompetence of this GM.
Why is he more likely to develop complimentary pitches in the minors. Tell him to through them here and who cares if he gets lit up. He could develop for nex year and help us get the #1 pick. That my friends, is a win win
Homer sucks.
I love how the fact homer is still up with the "big league" club (sarcasm) is a sign of the gm's incompetence but when he was tearing up AAA the FO was a bunch of fools for not bringing up Homer. You can't win so maybe they should alternate him every other start from l'ville to cincy (more sarcasm) LET HIM TAKE HIS LUMPS AND LEARN!! What do the Reds have to lose? Which benefits the clubs future more signing a Danny Serafini? If he got shelled every outing I might think differently but he hasn't.
I was always in the "he doesn't belong up" camp so there's no hypocrisy in this corner. He's not a major league pitcher right now. ML pitchers that will succeed have an off speed pitch and some semblance of control. He has neither. I don't see the point in having him smacked around while he's trying to learn and setting his arbitration clock in motion (the last point is now moot).
He has nothing to prove in AAA. I could see them skipping a start and giving him a relief outing or two in between.
I see no point of sending Homer down to dominate Triple A hitters. Let him take his lumps. From all accounts, he's a very confident young man. Getting knocked around won't break him.
As God as my witness, I thought turkeys could fly.
Remember, many very good to great pitchers (such as Tom Glavine) were shelled (See Glavine's early starts versus the Giants for example) in their early ML careers. Homer needs to settle down and settle in. I saw Homer Bailey in person when he pitched for the Dayton Dragons. He pitched some poor games there too but he has a history of straightening out his game. Let's give Homer a chance. Don't get down on the kid. Cheer him on at the ballpark! Let him and the team know we're behind them. Let's show other teams ballplayers why they should want to come to Cincinnati and play for the Reds. After all, what can it hurt?
