First post-55 yr old in Van wert saying I am optimistic for 07 and you folks are a hoot!
Welcome to Redszone. I almost read that as you live in a van.
When I first read that, I thought it said that "you folks are hot."I am optimistic for 07 and you folks are a hoot!
So a guy that lives in a van thinks we are hot.
Okay. I can live with that.
Welcome aboard!
Welcome aboard man!
Let's make some noise!
Life long, out-of-state Reds fan here. In 8th grade ('81-82) I used to have the Cincinnati Enquirer mailed to my house just to read about the Reds a few days late. Spent many a Summer night trying to get WLW in on my radio while hiding it under my covers. Later in life, flew out to Ohio to see the Reds with my sons, who followed their Pops and became fans too. So, I guess I am a pretty big fan.
In the early days of the Internet, Prodigy, then AOL, I used to post a lot on many different sports boards. I don't really have the time or energy to do it anymore, but did from time to time get over to the AOL boards to read what other fans had to say. I enjoyed reading alot of it, but rarely posted.
Now, I see, that board is completely dead. When I say dead, I mean like ZERO posts. I mean even the most obscuriest team or subject usually has a post or two. But zero?
Anyway, desperate for Reds info I found my way here. Don't know how much I can offer, but hopefully I can get some good info and insights from you regulars.
Eventually found my way over here from the Bucknuts board.
Reds' lore was engrained in my skull from the time I was born. My dad used to take the train to Crosley with my Grandpa, and I still have the scorecard from my Grandpa's first game at Crosley in 1935. I used to tag along with my dad and his buddies when a ticket was open. My first "real" memories of a Reds game are from a Dodgers-Reds affair in the 80's when the hated Pedro Guerrero hit a home run...though I have ticket stubs from earlier games. My dad still talks about Crosley and his love for that field. He attended the first game at Riverfront, and is a lifelong fan.
Hello Reds fans. I'm a native of Cincinnati and lifelong Reds fan. I can't believe I just found this site. I look forward to talking Redlegs baseball with you guys/gals this summer. Won't be long before we hear the best four words in all of sports......"pitchers and catchers report."
Glad to have you and welcome.
From Corbin KY, been looking here for a while thought I would start posting
Didn't realize this thread was on here so I guess I should introduce myself. I am from the Dayton area and would love to know how to change my name because there is already an OLDRIGHTHANDER. Thanks
