ORG: Statistical Evidence That Our Offense isn't "clutch?"

I was looking at some splits before the Phillies series and noticed that the Reds had the highest scoring in the NL in innings 1-6 and the lowest in the NL in innings 7+. I would call that "not clutch" hitting. The Reds and Phils have essentially the same runs scored through the first 6 innings and roughly the same team ERA. When comparing those two teams, the difference in the winning pct seems to be related to the fact that the Phils don't stop hitting after the 6th inning.

I have no statistical evidence to back up my claim...however, I'd think it didn't help matters when the former manager (it feels good to say that) would make all his brilliant defensive replacements on double-switches late in games. Then you'd end up with Castro, Moeller, or Hopper in the lineup, because Jerry thought it was essential to remove Adam Dunn in the 7th or 8th inning...not fully realizing that the bullpen would blow the lead and Dunn's spot in the lineup would come up again in the 9th, 10th, or whatever inning.

Of course, someone will probably look up Adam Dunn's late inning splits and tell me he's horrible late in the game anyway.
