Gonzalez walks in a run. Tie game 2-2. Bases loaded for Ross. Zito has now thrown more pitches than Harang.

Has there ever been a no-hitter.....and the guy who threw it lost the game?

At this pace he would have to throw about 170 pitches just to make it through the complete game.

I walked around the field at Safeco with my kid for LL day. When I walked past the Reds dugout, Allen was yucking it up with Tommy like they were college frat buddies. Someone mentioned earlier that they are a little protective of some of the good ol' boys (Gully was the example, and a good one).

It is really scary to look at what a great start this pitching staff started out with, and where it currently is. I don't know if it's Hume/ Pole/Narron or a combination of any of the three.... but it seems beyond bad luck or sally arms that is happening to the pitching this year.

New manager and we get small ball on steroids.... 0 hits and 2 runs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Only the Reds could get 5 walks in an inning and only score 2 runs.

That's still no reason. Boasting a tepid 781OPS over a span of 88ABs isn't really a great endorsement for batting cleanup, especially when you see he posted even worse numbers versus LHP in 2005 and 2006), it's more of an indictment of the design of this offense. However, a guy like EdE posted an 828OPS versus LHP over the span of last season, so might even try him there by default, if the manager is averse to stacking the LHH. Ideally, one of our trades will return a legitimate young, middle of the order high OBP power RH bat, but we'll see.

There have been a few games where pitchers threw no-hitters but lost. Matt Young threw one for the Red Sox in 1992 where they ended up losing 2-1. There have also been several cases where pitchers threw them for 9 innings but lost in extra innings.

Looking more like a throwback to 1982 everyday, eh? Berenyi "only" walked 96 batters in that, his best MLB season.

Again this is absolutely hilarious. The booing that's pouring down toward the Reds for walking Bonds is louder than the booing that poured down on Bonds himself when he was announced.
