Good find. I am curious though as to how Jay is 'rough around the edges'.... the only thing he seems to really have issues with is stealing bases at a high rate of success, but lets be honest here.... when you lead the minor leagues in extra base hits as a 20 year old, who needs stolen bases?

I love the way immense potential sounds. When is the game?

YIKES! Never considered him to be someone with that kind of power potential. I expected a high SLG, but I figured more like 35 HRs and 45 doubles or something.

Do you think it refers to him being a Texas kid? From what I gather he has a little country in him ala Adam Dunn, Jason Larue, and Homer Bailey.

Bruce's K/BB ratio (84/31 this year) needs a little work, I'd also assume he needs more time hitting against lefties.

While Guerra and Morales have true ace potential on the mound, one of the World's other elite pitchers, Carlos Carrasco, is a better bet to succeed on his lower projections. Carrasco, a 2006 breakout in the Phillies organization, was recently promoted to Double-A and his lanky body could be contributing in Philadelphia a year from now.

I saw him pitch tonight in Reading. Threw some serious gas around 95, but when he didn't have his command with the hard heat (sound familiar?), he settled down a bit and started throwing around 90-91. He has a great curve in the low 80's that was striking guys out a lot. After a couple innings though, he started to get tired. His curve was in the mid to low 70's and started to lose his command a bit. Overall, looked very good and promising.
