    Phillips carried the offense tonite

brandon had a spectacular night at the dish and also turned a few nifty plays in the field. It also helped the freel and hopper were on infront of him. I like other on this board think phillips will be a 30/30 guy this year as he is almost at 20 home runs. He does make his occasional bonehead plays but the kid is gonna be a bonafided superstar for years to come lock him up now wayne.

Phillips is an above average 2B and I'm all about VORP. It's much easier to get a 30/30 OF than a 30/30 2B so Phillips is far more valuable than a OF with similar #s. He's a plus in the field and on the basepaths so when he gets to arbitration sign him for 5 years at whatever the market dictates. He seems like he is still improving too.

Not to mention that he's stated several times during interviews that he'd love to play here as long as he can. Of course that could be just a bunch of crap laid out for the media. But when a young up and comer such as himself states that he loves the team, city, etc. while playing on the worst team in the MLB....Just makes him climb the ladder of favorite players in my book.
